| Details | Strengthening Employer Engagement in Apprenticeships Employers have an important role throughout the apprenticeship journey. Their contribution can help apprentices apply learning, develop workplace capabilities and understand their progress. Yet regular contact does not always translate into effective collaboration. This webinar explores the difference between employer contact, employer activity and meaningful employer contribution. Connecting Curriculum and Workplace Learning Participants consider how employers can strengthen curriculum relevance through authentic workplace tasks, opportunities to practise skills and feedback on performance. The session also explores how workplace learning can reinforce English, maths and wider professional capabilities. A practical mapping activity helps participants identify where employer involvement adds value across the apprenticeship journey. Making Progress Reviews More Meaningful Effective three-way conversations require employers, providers and apprentices to understand their respective roles. The webinar examines how preparation, clear expectations and purposeful feedback can make apprentice progress more visible. Participants explore practical approaches to strengthening communication, workplace learning and assessment readiness. From Reflection to Practical Improvement Through polls, discussion, practical scenarios and an employer engagement diagnostic, participants review their existing approaches. The emphasis is on identifying realistic improvements that strengthen employer capability, partnership working and the quality of apprenticeship delivery. Participants leave with a practical next step they can apply within their own provision. |

| Overview of Event | Employer engagement in apprenticeships is central to effective learning, progression and quality. However, employer involvement can become focused on compliance, routine contact and progress-review sign-offs rather than meaningful contribution. This interactive AELP webinar, delivered by Christine Edwards, explores how providers can move from employer contact to purposeful collaboration. The session focuses on building partnerships that connect curriculum delivery, workplace learning, feedback and apprentice progress. |
