| Details | AI is rapidly becoming part of everyday teaching practice, but confident and effective use involves much more than knowing how to write a good prompt. Practical AI for Teaching and Learning starts with purpose: identifying the learning need, understanding potential learner barriers and deciding what role, if any, AI should play. The webinar explores practical applications across planning and adaptation, explanations and examples, participation and accessibility, formative questioning and feedback. It also considers how AI-generated resources can be critically evaluated for accuracy, bias, inclusion, cognitive demand and learner agency. Through practical examples and an AI-supported teaching scenario, participants consider how technology can enhance learning without weakening professional judgement, learner thinking or independence. Responsible use, safeguarding, human oversight and appropriate boundaries are embedded throughout. The emphasis is not on using more AI. It is on making better decisions about where, why and how AI supports learning. |
